SBP will continue its mission of promoting sports : Usman Anwar

Lahore: Director General Sports Punjab Usman Anwar has said that Punjab Youth Festival (PYF) has a remarkable role in the growth of sports culture in schools and colleges across the province, he was addressing as a chief guest at the annual sports day of PakTurk School Johar Town Branch here on Saturday. DG SBP was received warmly by the officials of the PakTurk School. PakTurk School Principal Orhan Uygun, Murat Yakut, Erdem and Aslam Bhatti were also present on this occasion.

DG SBP, in his address, said that sports have great importance in the life of a common man. SBP has always put up great emphasis on the promotion of sports in the educational institutions. “SBP organized dozens of events at different schools and colleges during the last Punjab Youth Festival. This practice played a major role in producing hundreds of young athletes in various parts of the province,” he added.

Usman Anwar further said that SBP will continue its mission of promoting sports with the collaboration of private educational institutions in the future as well. He said that Punjab Youth Festival has played prominent role in earning good name for the motherland throughout the world. “Our athletes displayed their rare potential not only within the country but beyond the boundary as well,” he described. Later, he distributed prizes among the prominent students of the school.
