Former Chief Justice Lahore High Court Rashid Aziz passed away

Chief_Rashid_AzizLahore: Former Chief Justice Lahore High Court Rashid Aziz died today. He has left behind three sons Imran Aziz advocate, Irfan Aziz and Bilal Aziz. Funeral procession of the deceased will be taken out from his residence 170-A New Muslim Town Ayubia Market and Nimaz-e-Janaza will be offered on Monday, December 1 after Zohar prayers at Atta-ul-Haq Park behind Sheikh Zayed Hospital.

Justice(r)Rashid Aziz born on 1st September, 1941; started practice in 1964; appointed part time Lecturer in Himayat-e-Islam Law College, Lahore, in 1969 which assignment continued till 1976; appointed as Assistant Advocate-General, Punjab, in 1976; promoted as Additional Advocate-General, Punjab in 1979; Promoted as Advocate-General, Punjab in March, 1984; elevated to the Bench in March, 1987; nominated as Member, Election Commission of Pakistan in 1996 and appointed as Chief Justice, Lahore High Court with effect from 4-11-1997 to 04-02-2000.

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has expressed deep sense of grief and sorrow over the sad demise of former Chief Justice Lahore High Court, Rashid Aziz Khan.

In a condolence message, the Chief Minister prayed that may Allah Almighty rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and strength to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss with fortitude.
