Lahore: Punjab University Department of Zoology was organized an event under internationalizing higher education programme of British Council. On this occasion, Global CEO (British Council) Sir Martin Davidson was the chief guest while PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran, Director British Council Maclaven Kevin, Associate Professor Dr Zulfiqar Ali and a large number of scholars were also present.
A number of presentations were made to highlight British Council Pakistan achievements and ongoing programmes. The success with INSPIRE-Transnational Education Programme was updated by Dr Zulfiqar Ali and his student Khadija Aziz as one of the most successful project with substantial outcomes.
Among other presentations a brief introduction of knowledge park by Mr Shahid Zaman Additional Secretary Higher Education followed by a presentation of representatives of DSD on Schools Leadership Programme. Maria Niazi, Project Manager, British Council, introduced Scottish Scholarships Scheme followed by a documentary on Pakistan Scottish -Scholarships Scheme and lastly girls from rural Punjab and their project were introduced which has won SAGE world cup under British Council skills programme.
In his address, Sir Davidson appreciated the role of Punjab University in collaborative work with world leading universities on much needed global environmental and social issues.
