Lahore: Pakistan is releasing 40 Indian prisoners, including five civil prisoners and thirty-five fishermen, through Wagah border on Saturday.
According to state media Foreign Office disclosed that this will bring the total number of Indian prisoners released this year to one hundred and ninety-one.In May last, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had directed to release one hundred and fifty-one Indian prisoners.
Pakistan has always held that the issue of prisoners between the two countries is humanitarian and it should be taken in that spirit.Pakistan hopes the Government of India will reciprocate the gesture.
