Rights of the common man to be protected in Islamic Pakistan : Sirajul Haq

Siraj ul HaqLahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Sirajul Haq, has said that an Islamic Pakistan would be a prosperous Pakistan in which the rights of the common citizens would be fully secure.

Inaugurating a shopping Mall at Sector- G in Islamabad on Thursday, he said that the agenda he had announced at the JI Ijtema was the common man’s agenda. He said the common man loved this country and wanted to see Pakistan marching on the road to progress and prosperity.

Sirajul Haq said, he had talked to the Ulema, political leaders as also the traders and businessmen on the issue of an Islamic and prosperous Pakistan, and he was confident that people from all walks of life would join him in his movement for the completion of the Pakistan movement.

He said that the 5 per cent elite ruling the country could not think beyond their personal interests whereas the poor masses were prepared to make every sacrifice for the cause of the country and the nation. Those who have plundered billions of the nation were no ready to spend even a penny in the country and all their wealth and property was in foreign countries. He said these people came to the country to rule.

Sirajul Haq said that the People’s agenda presented by him at the Ijtema included provision of five food items including atta, sugar, rice, tea and ghee, on subsidized rates to the people earning below Rs. 30, 000  per month. He said that the Islamic government would fully control the prices of these items. He said the JI on coming to power, would enforce the system of Zakat under which it would be government’s responsibility to look after the widows, orphans and the needy.

He said that the Islamic government would curtail non-development expenditure and provide free education, with a uniform education system all over the country.

Sirajul Haq said that the government would provide free treatment to the patients suffering from heart, kidney, cancer, TB and liver diseases. He said at present thousands of poor people died every year only due to lack of health facilities.

Continuing, the JI chief said that as long as the interested based system prevailed in the country, blessings of Almighty Allah would not shower on this land. He urged the government to withdraw its appeal against the Federal Shariat Court judgment on the issue pending before the Supreme Court. He said that on coming to power, the JI would abolish all interested based businesses and also appeal to the masses to boycott the institutions dealing in interest. He said that  the interest- based economy was the root cause of the price spiral. He said that the loans given by the IMF and the World Bank were spent only on the rich while the poor were handcuffed for non- payment of small loans.

He said if the system of Zakat and charity was introduced in the country, there would not be so much economic disparity in the country.
