Lahore: Provincial Minister for Women Development Hameeda Waheed-ud-Din has said that government is providing educational facilities to all segments of the society particularly downtrodden people on priority basis so that deserving and talented students could be included in the mainstream of national development.
She was addressing laptops distribution function at Govt. Post Graduate College Mandi Bahaudin today. DCO Muzaffar Khan Sial, DPO Syed Junaid Arshad, Secretary Board of Intermediate Gujranwala Syed Jawad Haider Sherazi and other were also present on the occasion.
Provincial Minister said that government has allocated huge amount in the budget for development of education sector and encouragement of talented students during last six years which is 26.25 percent of the budget allocated for education. Hameeda Waheed-ud-Din said that laptops worth Rs. 3.5 billion are being distributed among students for harmonizing them with the latest educational demands. She said that due to the access to modern educational facilities, not only the interest of the students in education will increase but dropout rate in schools of far-flung areas will also decrease. She said that one lakh intelligent male and female students of the province will benefit from laptops scheme. She expressed her pleasure that the girls have got more laptops than boys. She stressed upon the students to pay attention to their studies for making Pakistan a developed country.
