Lahore: The former President of College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) Professor Khawja Sadiq Hussain has said that the college has produced medical professionals with skills of international standards and this has ensured in tremendous progress in the field of medicine and surgery in the country.
Addressing the 48th Convocation of the CPSP held here at Aiwan-e-Iqbal he said that the college has been active in providing high standard specialist training and education to its fellows in diverse fields of the profession.
The President of the college Professor Zafar Ullah Chaudhry congratulated the successful candidates for their achievements. He said that the top priority of the college has been provision of quality training and high value research to its trainees. He said that the development and extension in the infrastructure and provision of high-tech facilities at various CPSP regional centres across the country has helped the students in their academic, training and research pursuits. He said that the rigorous training of the fellows has resulted in high remunerations to the fellows across the world.
Highlighting the CPSP efforts on the national and international level he said that the state-of-the-art e-log system of the college has gained distinction on the international level. He said that the incumbent council of the CPSP has provided the best benefits of the medical profession to the doctors and surgeons at the international level in a way that has no precedent.
Five hundred and thirty-one doctors were awarded post-graduate degrees in the convocation. These included 430 who got FCPS, 89 MCPS, 9 MCPS for Health Professional Education, 2 DCPS and one Gold Medal.
The convocation was attended by the members of the CPSP Council and a large number of medical professionals.
