Lahore: A function in the honor of Dr. Sarfaraz Islam, a Pakistani philanthropist lady doctor settled in U.S who donated Rs. 4 cror for up gradation of dialysis centre of LGH, held here today in Lahore General Hospital. The function was attended by Principal PGMI & LGH Prof. Anjum Habib Vohra, President PMA Lahore Dr. Tanveer Anwar, Prof. Ahmad Salman Waris, Prof. Safdar Shah, MS LGH Dr. Junaid Mirza, Dr. Athar Hameed, Facality Membran, Yasir Ijaz & office bearers of Patient Welfare Society and administrative doctors.
Dr. Sarfaraz Islam said in her address that over-seas Pakistanis love their home land and they are ever ready to help and assist their Pakistani brothers in welfare projects. They only want their funds to be used transparently and honestly. She said that Prof. Anjmum Habib Vohra has proved that there is no dearth of honest, dedicated and committed to their cause people in Pakistan as he materialized successfully the project of dialysis centre at LGH meeting all international standards. She said that her mission is to serve the patients of kidney problems and now she would donate Rs. 2 cror more for construction of ICU for Kidney patients at LGH.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Anjum Habib Vohra said that after his posting as Principal at LGH, donors have given away more that Rs. 12 cror for welfare project at LGH. He said that he always considers every single penny of this donation as a sacred entrustment for patients. He appreciated Dr. Sarfaraz’s for her bestowal and said that her donation helped to buy 10 new computerized dialysis machines making it a total of 26 which helped the patients to a great extent. He also lauded the services of Patients Welfare Society and said that those who facilitate ailing humanity are the real successful people not only in their worldly life but the one to come.
