PML-N district Lahore president distributes laptops among students in MAO College

MNA Pervaiz MalikLahore: PML-N district Lahore president Member National Assembly Muhammad Pervaiz Malik has said that on the directions of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, an action plan has been prepared for furthering the project of setting up Education City in China Scheme, Lahore as a first priority.

He said this while addressing laptops distribution function among talented students of government colleges of Lahore division on merit at Govt. MAO College today. Under the E-Youth Initiatives of Chief Minister Punjab, laptops have been distributed among 921 students of six government boys colleges of Lahore in third phase of distribution of one lakh laptops among nation-builders this year. Pervaiz Malik said that information technology has become a source of connection with the entire world for youth. He said that our youth can achieve goals through information technology. He said it is a fact that the national economy has increased with the same proportion in which information technology increased in a country. Pervaiz Malik said that it is proof of the success of E-Youth Initiatives of Chief Minister Punjab that other provinces have also started this scheme whereas federal government will also distribute one lakh laptops among male and female students of universities throughout the country.

Secretary Higher Education Punjab Abdullah Khan Sumbal told on the occasion that the total budget of education sector this year is Rs. 274 billion and an amount of Rs. 4.54 billion has been allocated for distribution of free laptops among deserving students. He said that on the special instruction of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, detailed negotiations were held with prominent computer manufacturing company DELL and Punjab government has made an additional saving of Rs. 7.89 crore. He said that welfare of the students is top priority of the present government. He said that Chief Minister Punjab does not compromise on the distribution of laptops on hundred percent merit as he believe that information technology is the tool of polishing abilities of the youth.
