Lahore: Director General Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Dr. Ahmad Javaid Qazi has said that in the second phase, process of provision of financial assistance to the flood affectees is continuing in a comprehensive manner. He said that a huge amount of Rs. 2.2 billion was distributed among 60042 flood affectees the other day and Rs. 6.62 billion have so far been distributed among 180537 flood affectees. He said that financial compensation is being paid through pay orders and the affectees can encash these pay orders at any branch of five nominated banks.
Dr. Ahmad Javaid Qazi said that Rs. 16 billion will be distributed among more than 3.5 lakh flood affectees till November 25. He said that Rs. 80 thousand are being given for completely destroyed houses, Rs. 40 thousand are being paid for partially damaged houses while Rs. ten thousand per acre are being provided for loss of crops. He said that Rs. ten thousand are also being given to poor families under Rozgar Support Programme.
