Lahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Sirajul Haq, has stressed upon the government to immediately resume talks and also honour its commitment regarding reconstitution of the Election Commission , the electoral reforms and the setting up of a judicial commission to probe into rigging in 2013 elections.
Addressing the Friday congregation at Mansoora mosque, he said that the two sides should show flexibility in order to create an atmosphere conducive for dialogue instead of creating complications.
He said the issuance of warrants against Imran Khan, Tahir ul Qadri, Pervaiz khattak and others was not a political move and would add fuel to these fire in the present situation. He said it would be wise to drop these cases. He said the JI believed in bringing the people together instead of pitting them against one another.
The JI chief said that instead of fighting with each other, the political parties should sit together and find out solutions to the people’s problems. The issues of the masses should be highlighted as the common man was worried due to the price hike, unemployment, lack of educational and health facilities which must be solved.
He said that the JI Ijtema at Minar e Pakistan would be the biggest religio-political gathering in the country’s history at which representatives from more than twenty four countries would participate. Leaders of Islamic movements from different countries would also attend.
The JI Ijtema, he said, would mark the resumption of the Pakistan movement and he would present a peoples agenda on the occasion. The JI wanted to introduce a culture wherein the common man could also get equal opportunities to rise and the country could progress at a greater speed. He said that the conspiracies of the secular elements to demolish the ideological foundations of the Pakistan would not succeed.
