Government is totally confused about the state of affairs in Pakistan: Dr Shireen Mazari

Lahore: Central Information Secretary PTI, Dr Shireen Mazari, today stated that the government is totally confused about the state of affairs in Pakistan including the economy. She pointed out that while the PM accused the PTI Azadi dharna of bringing down growth in the economy including the manufacturing sector, the Finance Minister along with the IMF are both saying that manufacturing grew in August 2014 as compared to August 2013. Again, the confusion prevails with regard to the private sector. While the government and IMF echo each other over the robust growth of Pakistan’s industrial private sector, the main trade and industry bodies like FPCCI and APTMA have a contrary view APTMA has stated that 35 percent of the country’s textile industry has closed down. In fact it is this that has led Nawaz Sharif to practically cut off gas supplies to domestic users and divert all the gas to Punjab industries.

Mazari said the government is so hell-bent on lying to the nation that it has got confused within its own lies and spins. The fact is that the economy is suffering because of bad policies corruption and wasteful spending. It is unethical, Mazari concluded, for the IMF to become partisan in the PMLN’s lies and subterfuge.
