Lahore: Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister and Chairman Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC), Khawaja Ahmad Hissan has said that besides construction of extension project of PIC, the process of recruitment of doctors and other staff in the hospital will be completed at the earliest. Similarly, construction of 100-bed emergency department will be inaugurated this month, he added.
He expressed these views while addressing doctors’ faculty of PIC. Khawaja Ahmad Hissan said that with the up- gradation of cardiology departments in other hospitals, the rush of patients in PIC will be reduced. He said that steps are also being taken for providing latest machinery to this institute. He said that emergent measures will also be taken for the recruitment of doctors and paramedical staff while policy of shifting the patients coming into PIC to other hospitals after their initial treatment will be implemented.
Khawaja Ahmad Hissan said that Board of Management and doctors of the hospital will work like a team for providing international standard treatment facilities to patients. He expressed the hope that Management Board of PIC, professors, young doctors and medical staff will succeed in making PIC not only the best hospital of Punjab but of Pakistan. He said that Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has accorded top priority to health sector and implementation on his directions is being ensured to provide quality treatment facilities to the people without any discrimination. He said that Punjab Institute of Cardiology is a unique institute and every possible step will be taken for enhancing its standard besides improvement will be made in the facilities being provided to the patients.
