Lahore: The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has launched the pilot project of interactive classroom technology in three different partner schools in Chakwal in the first phase.
The purpose of this project is to promote quality education in the low-cost partner schools where enrolled students are getting free education under public private partnership model of the PEF. Under this model, 1.66 million deserving male and female students are getting free education in partnering schools situated in 36 districts in Punjab.
Regional Director (North) of the Punjab Education Foundation Syed Naveed Abbas said this while addressing the one-day training workshop of subject specialists at his office on Thursday. The subject specialists attached with subject based support program attended the workshop which was arranged by PEF continuous professional development program in collaboration with socio engineering consultant.
Naveed Abbas told that 24 selected partner schools working under education voucher scheme are provided with state of the art interactive classroom technology by the foundation in the first phase.
These schools are situated in Chakwal, Lahore and Multan districts. He hoped that this pilot project will help to improve the learning outcomes of the students who mostly belong to the poor strata. It will also strengthen the role of the teachers as well as improving their access to the latest trends in knowledge, he added. He further said that PEF subject specialists are being trained to act as trainers and monitors in their schools so that the students could get quality education free of cost.
Earlier, SEC’s subject specialist Ms. Sumbul Khalil and manager M&E Niaz Khan briefed the participants about various features of the interactive technology.
