Lahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Sirajul Haq, has said the issuance of warrants against PTI chairman Imran Khan, PAT chief Tahir ul Qadri , Khyber P Chief Minister Pervez Khattak , Sheikh Rashid and others was a non-political move which would add fuel to the fire in the prevailing situation.
In a statement here, the JI chief said that these cases should be dropped altogether in order to promote national reconciliation. He urged the government to show prudence and try to resolve the crisis instead of worsening the situation by creating bitterness.
Meanwhile, Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Sirajul Haq, has said that the West was the biggest violator of the women’s rights as even the sanctity of the relationship between a daughter and her father and a sister and brother had been shattered. He was addressing a Women Conference at Mansoora, at which JI women wing leaders Humaira Tariq, Sameeha Raheel Qazi, Begum Qazi Hussain Ahmed and others were also present.
Sirajul Haq said that Islam first talked of the protection of the women rights. It gave sanctity to the relationship with the womenfolk as a mother, a sister, and a daughter. The womenfolk were not only granted the right to inheritance but were made as a companion in the journey for preaching and Jehad, and the Righteous Caliphs and the Companions of the Holy Prophet( PBUH) used to consult their women on important issues.
The JI chief demanded that those who deprived their womenfolk of their right to inheritance be barred from contesting elections. He said that a certificate for the grant of inherited property to the sisters be made mandatory for the acceptance of nomination papers by the Election Commission, just like a certificate of clearing the utilities bills required for the purpose.
Sirajul Haq said that in order to build the country as a welfare state, it was imperative to create job opportunities for the womenfolk who constituted 51 per cent of the total population. He said that the society required women teachers, lady doctors, and lady judges. He said many a woman did not want to get medical treatment from male doctors therefore the country needed more lady doctors. Therefore the womenfolk must be given equal facilities for education and health.
The JI chief said that the political leaders raising slogans of women rights during the election campaign completely forgot their promises afterwards. He said the rulers were blind to the injustices being done to the womenfolk in the society.
He said it was the responsibility of the state to look after the widows, and the orphans, and added that if the government did not properly look after the children of the Christian couple murdered at Kot Radha Kishan, the JI and its Al-Khidmat Foundation would take up this challenge.
Sirajul Haq was confident that hundreds of thousands of women from all over the country would participate in the JI Ijtema being held at the Minar e Pakistan from November 21, and adding that an international Women Conference would also be held during the Ijtema at which women representatives from 24 countries would attend. He said the conference would raise a voice for the women rights in the Muslim world.
