Lahore: Provincial Minister for Home & Chairman Cabinet Committee on Flood Affectees Col. Retd. Shuja Khanzada has said that financial assistance is being provided to the flood affectees in a speedy and transparent manner and in the second phase a sum of Rs.2 billion 60 crore has so far been distributed among more than 71 thousand flood-hit people. He said that implementation of the rehabilitation package for the flood affectees will be continued till complete rehabilitation of all calamity-hit people.
He was presiding over a meeting to review the measures for the rehabilitation of flood affectees at the office of Punjab Disaster Management Authority, here today. Provincial Minister for Food Bilal Yasin, Spokesman Punjab Government Syed Zaeem Hussain Qadri, Senior Member Board of Revenue Nadeem Ashraf, Secretary Information and Culture Momin Ali Agha, Director General PDMA Ahmed Javed Qazi and concerned officers were present. Referring to distribution of blankets among flood affectees.
Col Shuja Khanzada said that blankets are being provided to distressed people under a comprehensive strategy. He said that financial assistance is also being provided to the overseas Pakistanis whose land have been devastated by flood and instructions have been issued to the District Coordination Officers of the concerned districts in this regard. The meeting reviewed distribution of financial assistance among the flood affectees and the participants expressed their satisfaction over the process.
