Lahore: Old Ravian Allam Iqbal’s poetry spells out a manifesto for purposeful change, said Government College University Lahore Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Khaleeq-ur-Rahman while talking to media during his visit to Iqbal’s mausoleum to pay homage to the great Old Ravian philosopher and poet of the East on his birth anniversary.
GCU Director Research Prof. Dr Muhammad Zakaria Butt, Director Facilities Yousaf Basher, and office bererears of GCU rovers Club also accompanied the Vice Chancellor and offered fateha for the soul of the great national poet and laid floral wreath.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof Rahman said that Old Ravian Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal’s philosophy was a beacon of light for youth and guaranteed the Muslim renaissance. He said that it was up to the Muslim youth today to seek light from Iqbal’s philosophy and guaranteed the revival of scientific, technological and social advancement. He said that it was a matter of great pride and inspiration for all Ravians and Old Ravians that Iqbal had been the student of Government College Lahore. The Vice Chancellor also recorded his views in the visitors’ book.
