Islamabad: Government of Pakistan has promoted Air Commodore Syed Furqan Ahmad Zaidi to the rank of Air Vice Marshal and he has been appointed as Air Officer Commanding, Air Defence Command.
Air Vice Marshal Syed Furqan Ahmad Zaidi was commissioned in October, 1983 in the Air Defence Branch of Pakistan Air Force. During his illustrious career, he has commanded various Air Defence Units including a Mission Control Center and also served as Sector Commander. In his staff appointments, he has served as Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Air Defence) at Air Headquarters, Islamabad. He is a graduate of Combat Commanders’ School, Air War College and National Defence University (NDU). He holds Master’s degrees in Strategic Studies and War Studies. He is also a recipient of Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military).
