Lahore: The International Cricket Council (ICC) today confirmed that the bowling action of Bangladesh fast bowler Al-Amin Hossain had been found to be legal following an independent test, and that the player can, therefore, continue to bowl in international cricket.
During a comprehensive analysis it was revealed that the amount of elbow extension in Al-Amin’s bowling action for all deliveries was within the 15-degree level of tolerance permitted under the ICC regulations.
The analysis was performed at the Sri Ramachandra University in Chennai on 20 October after the match officials had expressed concerns over his bowling action following the first Test against the West Indies in St Vincent in September.
Details of the ICC regulations for the review of bowlers reported with suspected illegal bowling actions can be found here.
