Administration to take strict action against the transporters for receiving excess fares: Bilal Yasin

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Food Bilal Yasin directed to the administration for strict action against the transporters for receiving excess fares and petrol pumps for overcharging. He said that a grand operation should be launched without caring any pressure or influence in this regard.

He said this while presiding over a meeting at committee room of civil secretariat today. Additional Chief Secretary, Secretary Food, Secretary Transport, Director Special Branch and Director IB were present in the meeting. The meeting was told that the staff of Transport Department is working round the clock to implement new transport fares and checking prices of petroleum products throughout the province. All Commissioners and DCOs have been directed to formulate implementation report on daily basis and send to Secretary Transport. Transport fares should be displayed prominently on all bus stands for information of passengers.

Food Minister said that auction process in markets should be made transparent so that edible items could be available to the people at cheaper rates. He said that SOPs of Ramzan Bazars should be followed for providing essential items to the people at cheaper rates.
