Yaum-e-Ashur gives message of patience, sacrifice and steadfastness: Shahbaz Sharif

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain and his faithful companions in Karbala gives the message of patience, sacrifice and steadfastness. He said that the supreme sacrifices offered by martyrs of Karbala for upholding truth and justice are a beacon of light for the Muslims.

In his message on Yaum-e-Ashur, the Chief Minister said that Hazrat Imam Hussain and his companions wrote a new history of courage and bravery by standing firmly against the forces of falsehood in Karbala. He said that the sacrifices offered by Hazrat Imam Hussain and his companions eternalized the lofty Islamic principles of peace, tolerance and morality and a peaceful society can be established by implementing these teachings in letter and spirit.

Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistan is passing through the most critical phase of its history and facing terrorism in its worst form. He said that the enemy of Pakistan wants to destabilize the country and there is a need to foil its nefarious designs with the force of unity.

The Chief Minister further said that Yaum-e-Ashur also gives the message that the whole nation should gather on one platform for eradicating terrorism so that the enemies of the nation could be defeated and Pakistan could emerge as a haven of peace in the real sense. He further said that there is a need to promote Islamic brotherhood, tolerance and national unity for elimination of terrorism and the importance of following the philosophy of Hazrat Imam Hussain is more than ever in the present situation.
