Lahore: CM Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif visited Lahore General Hospital and inquired after the injured of Wahga Blast. He went to each patient and inquired about his well being. He also inquired from the injured persons and their families about the details of the tragic incident and sympathized with them.
Shahbaz Sharif went to the hospital without any protocol or prior intimation and also issued special instructions to the hospital administration about the treatment and care of the injured persons.Punjab chief minister directed the hospital administration that injured should be provided all the facilities free of cost.He also prayed for the early recovery of the injured.
He also sought from the patients the details of the tragic incident. Speaking on the occasion, Shahbaz Sharif said that Wahga incident was highly tragic as a number of precious human lives have been lost. He said that the whole nation is grieved over this tragedy and it must be condemned in the strongest terms. He said that those who play with the innocent lives deserve no leniency and will be brought to justice at any cost. He said that there is a need for national unity and harmony in the present situation as extremism and terrorism can be rooted out with collective efforts and thinking. He said that Pakistani nation is united in the war against terrorism and it will be rooted out with the force of unity and the country will be made a haven of peace.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif presided over a high level meeting here today which reviewed the Wahga incident from various angles. Preliminary report into the tragedy was also presented in the meeting. The Chief Minister issued instructions for setting up a joint investigation team for probing the tragic incident. He also directed that security arrangements for Yaum-e-Ashur should be further improved in the wake of Wahga tragedy and police and concerned institutions should remain alert to foil the nefarious designs of the enemies of the country. He said that a watchful eye should be kept on suspects and concerned institutions should work with close coordination.
Spokesman Punjab Government Zaeem Hussain Qadri said that on the directions of Chief Minister, special instructions have issued for tightening security arrangements in the province. He said that instructions regarding four-tier cordons around Majalis and mourning processions will be fully implemented. Provincial Ministers Col.(R) Shuja Khanzada, Bilal Yasin, Spokesman Punjab Government Zaeem Hussain Qadri, Member Provincial Assembly Rana Sanaullah Khan, Special Assistant Rana Maqbool Ahmad, Chief Secretary, Inspector General Police, Secretary Home, Commissioner Lahore Division and concerned authorities attended the meeting.
