Lahore: Weights and Measures Wing of Punjab Labour & Human Resource Department conducted special raids on seven petrol pumps of the provincial metropolis to check accuracy of weights and measures.
Provincial Minister for Labor Raja Ashfaq Sarwar, responding at the complaints of less measuring of petrol at some certain petrol pumps of the city, ordered concerned Labor Department officers to conduct sudden raids to redress the grievances of the citizens.
Accordingly Deputy Controller Weights and Measures Punjab, Lahore, Arshad Mahmood Tarar along with Labor Department teams initiated raids at seven petrol pumps of the provincial metropolis, out of which 6 petrol pumps were found selling petrol with less measurement by tempering in the government seals and equipment.
Petrol pumps, found with less measuring of petrol are Meher Gas Station Sanda Road, Highway Traders Bahawalpur House, Haider Fillings Service Centre Main PECO Road, Usman Filling Station Kot Lakhpat, Gausia Service Centre Wapda Town and A&A Filling Station Johar Town Lahore. The total number of prosecutions lodged in the court for further action were 31 while 18 units were sealed for less measuring.
A total number of 45 nozels were checked out of which 28 nozels were found accurate while 18 units were found with less measuring. Only one petrol pump, Ravi Service Station was found in accurate measuring position.
