Lahore: Provincial Minister for Minorities Affairs and Human Rights Khalil Tahir Sindhu has said that Punjab government gives due importance to the welfare and uplift of minorities and huge funds have been allocated in the budget for this purpose.
He was talking to Ambassador of Germany in Pakistan Cyrill Nunn at his residence here today. First Secretary of Economic Section Kai Muller Berner was also present on the occasion.
The Provincial Minister briefed the German Ambassador on Minorities Affairs and Human Rights Department as well as apprised him of development projects for minorities, establishment of Minorities Advisors Council, provision of scholarships to the students of minorities and the steps taken for promotion of religious harmony and tolerance in the society. He said that promotion of peace and tranquility is the need of the hour as all religions preach tolerance and brotherhood.
