Lahore: The biased mentality of Indian authorities and their strange doping system, on Friday, caused great chaos in the World Kabaddi League (WKL) Tournament.
As many as 20 leading players of various teams participating in the WKL event have been tested positive so far. On the other hand, WKL management threw 16 players of Lahore Lions into doping test process 26 times but none of them could be trapped by the India-based WKL officials.
India-based WKL authorities badly failed to take any action against their own 20 players, whose doping tests were positive. According to WKL rules, the tainted players should have been disqualified automatically but strangely no action was taken against them. The rules also clarify that the opposite team will be declared as winner after the occurrence of a dope test but no such development was recorded or reported.
It is pertinent to mention here that WKL teams Khalsa Warriors and California Eagles enjoyed the top positions on the points table with 25 and 18 points respectively. They won their matches against Lahore Lions and other opponents mainly due to their dope-hip players.
Lahore Lions three players Mohsin Wahla, Akmal Shahzad and Shafeeq Chishti were tested thrice, five players – Khalil Ahmed, Aslam Dogar, M Ramzan, Rehman Ishtiaq and Shabbir Hussain Butt were thrown into doping tests twice and eight other players were also tested but without any positive result.
WKL, which was actually targeting Sports Board Punjab’s (SBP) Lahore Lions Kabaddi team, violated their own rules by not imposing any penalty on any of the 20 dope-hit players.
Following is the list of 20 dope-hit players of different teams barring Lahore Lions: Jaskaran Singh, Gagandeep Singh Jogewal, Yasmeen Malik, Gurpreet Singh, Amritpal Singh, Chamkaur Singh, Surender, Neetu Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Baljinder Singh, Sewa Ram, Amarjit Singh Sandhu, Jugraj Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Sandeep Singh Ludhar, Gurpreet Singh, Navneet Singh, Eakam Singh, Randeep Kumar, Amandeep Singh Gill.
Out of above-mentioned tainted players three players Gagandeep Singh, Gurpreet Singh and Amarjit Singh have also played key role in their teams’ victories against Lahore Lions.
