National women kabaddi camp swells

Lahore: The number of participants in national women Kabaddi camp, on Wednesday, has increased to 45 at Punjab Stadium.

Sports Board Punjab (SBP) is organizing the camp for the preparation of Kabaddi World Cup 2014. The grand Kabaddi tournament will be played in India in December this year.

According to Sports Board Punjab spokesman Abdul Rauf Roofi, the preparation for the Women Kabaddi World Cup is going exactly as per our planning. “We have expanded our pool of players so that we can prepare sufficient back up strength for every key player ahead of mega Kabaddi event,” he explained.

Elaborating his point, Roofi said that there is no scarcity of potential in Pakistan. “We found great amount of Kabaddi talent in our girls colleges and various sports club and academies. The game of Kabaddi is receiving huge acceptance among Pakistan females and we are quite confident of formulating a top class outfit for the grand event,” he added.

Highlighting the role of coach and trainer, Roofi said: “Pakistan Kabaddi players both male and female, are quite fluky to have the services of thorough professional coach and trainer”.

The women players took part in physical exercises and stretching under the supervision of trainer Muhammad Siddique. Prior to their exercise, the players ran a couple of rounds of the ground to get proper warm-up.
