ECOSAI conference will help to promote transparency in public sector audit: AGP

Lahore: Secretary General ECOSAI and Auditor General Pakistan Muhammad Akhtar Buland Rana has said that ECOSAI conference will help to promote transparency and financial discipline in public sector audit. He said that, in the ongoing conference, audit heads of Turkey, Iran, Tajikistan and Pakistan are considering various methods to cope with the existing financial challenges, in the light of their experiences.

He said that there are strong historical and cultural relations between the countries participating in ECOSAI conference. President ECOSAI Dr. Recia Akyel (Turk Head) while addressing Governing Body Training Committee meeting said that training has been arranged in the conference for controlling financial irregularities in the world which will help in good governance and promoting financial regulations.

Audit Head of Iran Dr. Amin Hossein Rahimi said that devising of an effective strategy for account and audit of public sector in the present economic situation of the world is a challenge. He said that holding of ECOSAI conference will help in benefiting from each other’s experiences. In the meeting of Governing Board on the 2^nd day of ECOSAI conference, audit heads of Tajikistan, Iran, Pakistan and Turkey participated along with their delegations.

The meeting took various decisions for promoting mutual cooperation between the member countries for improving public sector auditing.
