Unity is needed to foil the nefarious designs of anti-state elements:Malik Iqbal Channar

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Cooperative, Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar has said that the country is passing through a critical phase and there is a need of unity of the nation to foil the nefarious designs of anti-state elements.

He expressed these views while addressing a meeting regarding Muharram ul Harram. He said that top priority should be given to maintenance of law and order during Muharram ul Harram. He said that no effort should be spared for the protection of life and property of the people. He said that implementation on comprehensive security plan evolved for Muharram ul Harram should be ensued. The Minister said that foolproof security arrangements should be ensured for the protection of Majalas and Processions besides sensitive places be especially monitored. He said that additional police force should be deputed at Mosques, Imam Baghas and other worship places.

Malik Iqbal Channar directed that the law regarding ban on provocative material and literature and display of weapons should strictly be implemented and action be taken against the violators. He said that the timings of routes and processions should be ensured at all cost besides CCTV cameras be installed at the routes of the processions. He said that walkthrough gates, generators, lights and other necessary equipments should be arranged. He said that law enforcement agencies should work in a coordinated manner and a watchful eye should be kept on suspicious persons. He emphasized upon Ulema & Mashaikh to teach a lesson of brotherhood, restraint and tolerance as this is the time of unity. He said that members of divisional, district and tehsil peace committees should work in an active manner.
