Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that service to masses is the pivot of politics of Pakistan Muslim League-N and it is committed to raise the living standard of deprived segments of society and bring them into mainstream of development. All out efforts are being made in this regard, he added. He said that the elements hindering development activities are not sincere to the country. He said that 18 crore people of Pakistan have totally rejected the politics of protest and chaos. He said that country does not need sit- ins but national unity to overcome all its problems.
He was talking to assembly members of various districts who met him, here today. The Chief Minister said that delay in the execution of energy projects due to sit-ins will be made up and the power projects will be completed speedily. He said that Punjab government has diverted resources towards poor masses and an effective strategy has been adopted to bring the deprived segments into mainstream of development. He said that mega projects for the provision of basis amenities to the citizens are being completed speedily and in a transparent manner.
Assembly members paid tributes to Chief Minister Punjab over the steps taken by him for the progress and prosperity of the people and said that round the clock efforts of Shahbaz Sharif are yielding results and the progress made by Punjab compared to other provinces is exemplary. They said that Chief Minister Punjab has set records of public service. The assembly members who met the Chief Minister included Malik Ahmed Yar Hanjra, Malik Ghulam Murtaza Rahim Khar, Muhammad Zeshan Gurmani, Sardar Khan Muhammad Khan Jatoi, Mian Alamdar Abbas Qureshi, Ch. Raza Nasrullah Ghuman, Mary Gill, Joyce Ruffan Julius, Shazia Tariq and Ch. Arshad Jutt. Elected representatives also informed the Chief Minister about the pace of ongoing development projects and welfare programmes in their respective areas.
