Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League (PML) President and former Prime Minister Senator Ch Shujat Hussain and senior central leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi have said that our Muslim League workers were present in every house and street who should be organized under the party flag. They said this while addressing provincial convention of the party at the Muslim League House here today which was largely attended by office-bearers, assemblies members and ticket holders from all districts and tehsils.
Convention participants quite enthusiastically greatly lauded services of Ch Shujat Hussain and Ch Parvez Elahi for the party and the country. They said that the people realize and remember the revolutionary steps which the govt of Ch Parvez Elahi had taken for the welfare and well-being of the poor and common man and minorities in the Punjab and they would further highlight these. They emphatically said that Muslim League’s own entity should be given importance.
Convention was participated by Senator Kamil Ali Agha, MNA Tariq Bashir Cheema, MNA Zain Elahi, Ch Zaheeruddin Khan, Dr Khalid Ranjha, MPAs Moonis Elahi, Waqas Hassan Mokal and Muhammad Shah Khagga, Ahmad Yaar Heraj, Ch Anwar Bhinder, Rana Zahid Tauseef, Rana Asif Tauseef, Dr Azeemuddin Lakhvi, Ghias Ahmad Mela, Hafiz Ammar Yasir, Bao Rizwan, Qamar Hayat Kathia and other leaders.
Continuing Ch Shujat Hussain and Ch Parvez Elahi said that due to anger of the people over their defective performance the rulers were afraid of the local bodies elections. They asked the party workers to maintain and strengthen unity among their ranks and become active and organize at the union council level and fully participate in the reorganization of the party. They said that colleagues of today were the precious asset of the party and they would always be given importance.
They said that we would keep our allies parties with us, think tanks comprising senior leaders would be formed at the national and provincial levels, provincial think tank would give its opinion about party reorganization and national think tank would give its valuable views regarding national matters.
They said that the role and great sacrifices of the Pak army in the defence of the frontiers besides Zarb-e-Azb were quite laudable and their party would continue to fully support it.
They said that workers conventions of Pakistan Muslim League would be held in every district after Muharram in which first priority will be given to reorganization at the basic level. About various office-bearers saying that in every area other parties leaders and ticket holders wanted to join PML, they said that they would be welcomed in the party fold. They said mass contact campaign would be launched, performance of the rulers had forced the people to think as to what they (the rulers) had given to the people, we had handed over surplus Punjab to the present rulers in 2008 which was now under heavy debt of Rs 700 billion, PML role in national politics had always been important and positive and would, Insha-Allah, remain so forever, even being out of power our party and services had proved wrong all assessment of the opponents, there was no reason why should not we be successful if we honestly and sincerely keep contact with the masses at large under the party banner, “tell the people your past performance, you will not be disappointed”.
