Lahore: The probables of men’s national kabaddi camp had a hectic day here on Thursday at Punjab Stadium. The Kabaddi players did stern physical training in the morning session. The players were also shown the video clips of various leading outfits to acquaint them with the modern techniques and game plan of rival teams. After the video session, Ghulam Abbas Butt, the head coach of Lahore Lions Kabaddi team, delivered a detailed lecture about the game of kabaddi.
The participants of camp played a practice match in the evening session. The probables were divided into two teams named Pakistan ‘A’ and Pakistan ‘B’. Pakistan ‘B’, after a thrilling contest, defeated Pakistan ‘A’ by 45-38. Head coach Ghulam Abbas Butt supervised the match. Both the teams put more focus on their stoppers so that they can offer good performance in the upcoming matches of World Kabaddi League (WKL).
Director General Sports Punjab Usman Anwar, in this regard, said that all the boys were undergoing hectic training in the camp. “The practice matches are the best way to train our boys for the upcoming challenging matches of WKL and Kabaddi World Cup. We are reviewing the performance of all the players closely,” he added.
DG SBP was of the view that these practice matches will play an important role in constituting a strong side. “We are trying different combinations in practice matches to give our players best possible training,” he described. Pakistan women’s kabaddi players also did their practice at the training camp at the same venue.
