Lahore: “On the eve of Hindu religious festival ‘Deewali’, Pakistani Hindu Community is grateful to Speaker and all members of National Assembly for letting the house adjourned till Monday, instead of Friday.” This was stated by prominent Hindu lawmaker Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, MNA and Patron-in-Chief of Pakistan Hindu Council, while talking to the media outside Parliament House on Thursday.
Dr. Ramesh informed that the decision to mark “Deewali” was taken by the Speaker of National Assembly, who responding to the point, announced that the House shall remain adjourned on Friday for the ‘Deewali’ festival being celebrated by the Hindu community.
Dr. Ramesh Kumar, while talking to the floor of the house and latter with the media, emphasized to include “Deewali” a gazetted public holiday and to ensure advanced salaries to Hindu employees all over the country, particularly in Sindh.
