Lahore: A 76-member Ittehad-e-Bain-ul-Muslamin Committee comprising Ulema and Mashaikh has been constituted in Punjab for the maintenance of peace and elimination of sectarianism.
The committee constituted on the instructions of Chief Minister Punjab, will play an important role in controlling sectarian-based speeches and literature besides resolving sectarian issues during Muharram ul Harram.
Provincial Minister for Auqaf and Religious Affairs will be the chairman of the committee while Secretary/Chief Administrator Auqaf will be its secretary.
Giving effective representation to women, the Chief Minister has included one woman from all schools of thought into the committee. Ittehad-e-Bain-ul-Muslamin Committee will comprise Ulema and Mashaikh of all sects, coordinator and official members.
