Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League (PML) President and former Prime Minister Senator Ch Shujat Hussain has said that family politics should be ended and for this purpose definition of family should be clarified as to what the family meant, there should be ban on becoming the prime minister and the chief minister for more than two terms, women coming on reserved seats should be debarred from becoming member more than once and they should not have the right to vote in the election of the prime minister and the chief minister.
Talking to media representatives at his residence the PML President said that the sit-ins have been attained the form of public meetings and processions, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was responsible for the prevailing circumstances, there was an opportunity for him that he should not have considered Chief Minister Punjab as his brother, had held inquiry against him in Model Town tragedy and secured his resignation the circumstances would not have been like this. He said that on becoming Narendra Modi the Prime Minister when all had asked to felicitate him then he had remarked that he would talk on seeing the mood of Modi, his mood had been seen by the entire media, we had convened joint session of the parliament for hurling abuses, at least one day session should have held for this aggression of India, not much had been worsened the session should be called now, we would go to the Senate for convening of the joint session, he was hopeful that other parties would also support this.
Responding to various questions, Ch Shujat Hussain said that we should not indulge in the matter as to whom the army supported and whom not. He said general elections in Australia and New Zealand were being held after three years, we should also do like that, people get fed up in five years. He said that we would be submitting our proposals and suggestions regarding election reforms, taking turn system should end now.
“I should rule and then my brother or son, this should not happen like this. “He said when the govt asked the army to play the role of the facilitator they did that but when the prime minister came under pressure from the parliament as to why did he said like that, Nawaz Sharif took a u-turn on the floor of the assembly in this regard, Nawaz Sharif should have said in the parliament prior to the clarification of the army that he had done that and he stood by what he had said. Ch Shujat Hussain that committee formed under the chairmanship of Ishaq Dar would not be able to do the needful, parties committee and not the parliament committee will have to be constituted, such a committee can do this work, one individual cannot solve the matters.
