Lahore: The second phase of national kabaddi camp has started at Punjab Stadium here on Monday after the gap of Eid ul Azha holidays. The camp is being organized under the auspices of Sports Board Punjab (SBP) for the preparation of Kabaddi World Cup and ongoing World Kabaddi League (WKL) matches.
As many as 30 players have reported on the opening day of the camp where Lahore Lions head coach Ghulam Abbas Butt supervised the two training sessions in the morning and evening.
Ghulam Abbas Butt, in his media talk said that Director General SBP Usman Anwar has issued special instructions regarding the meticulous training of national Kabaddi players so that they can offer satisfactory performance in their next matches of World Kabaddi League. “We are imparting some tough training to our players and we are quite confident that our players will not repeat the mistakes they committed in the previous matches of the mega event,” he expressed his hope.
Butt further told that his coaching team and trainer Mohammad Siddique have chalked out a hectic schedule to sharpen the raiding and stopping skills of national kabaddi team. After the completion of camp training, 35 players will be short listed for the Kabaddi World Cup being staged fromDecember 5 to 15, 2014,” he added.
