Bilal Yasin visits Sunday Bazaars

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Food Bilal Yasin has said that government is taking all possible measures to provide essential commodities to the common man at reasonable rates. He warned that overcharging and hoarding would not be tolerated.

This was stated by him while talking to consumers during his visits to Sunday Bazaars, here today. The Minister paid surprise visits to Islampura and Shadman Sunday Bazaars. Officers of District Administration, market committee, Labour and Industries departments were also present.

Provincial Minister inspected the stalls of vegetable, fruit and other commodities and checked the prices. He inquired about the quality and prices of daily use items from consumers. The consumers expressed their satisfaction over the prices of daily use items and informed the Minister that the prices in Sunday bazaars are lower than market rates.

Bilal Yasin directed the administrators that rate lists must be displayed conspicuously so that consumers should not face any difficulty. He also directed that presence of Price Control Magistrates should be ensured till the end of timings of Sunday Bazaars and a vigilant eye should also be kept on the prices of daily use items. He further said that stalls of such vendor must be cancelled as were found overcharging and creating artificial shortages of daily use items. Special security and cleanliness arrangements should also be made in all Sunday Bazaars, he directed.
