Lahore: Central leader of Pakistan Muslim League-N Hamza Shahbaz Sharif MNA has said that facilities of international standard are being provided at the tourism places of Punjab. He said that Soon Skaser valley will be made an ideal tourist place. He said that vast job opportunities can be created through promotion of tourism in the province. He said that foreign exchange can also be earned through promotion of tourism.
He expressed these views while addressing a function held under Punjab Tourism Department on World Tourism Day.
Hamza Shahbaz Sharif also inaugurated a pictorial exhibition of natural scenes of Soon Skaser Valley and appreciated photographs made by university students. Members Assembly of PML-N Malik Muhammad Pervaiz, Ghazali Saleem Butt, Shahbaz Chaudhry, Tahia Noon and MD Punjab Tourism Ahmed Malik, Vice Chairman Punjab Tourism Imran Ali Goraya as well as Secretary Tourism Muhammad Khan Khitchi also attended the function.
Hamza Shahbaz said that there are three lakes in Soon Skaser valley and tourist facilities are being provided at a cost of Rs. 26 crore in this valley. He said that all possible steps are being taken for making Changa Manga, Jalo Park, Lahore Wildlife and Soon Skaser valley attractive for tourists. He said that a flower park and cinema house will be constructed in Jalo Park whereas more animals are being brought in Lahore Wildlife Park.
Similarly, train and boat facilities are being improved in Changa Manga, he added. He said that Punjab government is also planning to bring wildlife in Kallar Kahar.
Hamza Shahbaz said that GPO Chowk of Murree is again being widened and made beautiful as per old picture of 1951. In addition, a cable car is also being installed from Express Way to Mall Road of Murree. Similarly, Islamabad is also planning to run Murree tourist buses. Hamza Shahbaz said that provincial tourism policy will soon be announced. Similarly, women tourism wing is also being established for motivating women to tourism, he added.
Hamza Shahbaz said that government is making efforts for the development of the province round the clock but those staging sit-ins in Islamabad have not only made the country a laughing stock in the entire world by attacking parliament and PTV building but are also causing massive loss to the economy. He said that sit-in drama is near to end. He said that flood affectees and IDPs are problems of the country and not sit-in.
Hamza Shahbaz said that helping the distressed people is essential instead of holding dance and music functions and celebrating Jashan. He said that why those terming metro bus of Punjab government as Jangla bus are now announcing to run metro bus in KPK.
Hamza Shahbaz disclosed that World Bank has started financing for Diamir Basha Dam. He said that government is making sincere efforts for resolving problems of the people but those staging sit-ins are creating hurdles through London plan and other conspiracies.
During the ceremony a few people shouted slogans “Go Nawaz Go” that off the mood of Hamza Shahbaz but the people very soon left the hall.
