Lahore: Mobilink Foundation (MF) has doled out state of the art computer laboratory to a private high school attached with Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) under its Foundation Assisted School (FAS) program in Kahna Nau, Lahore. This IT lab is given under corporate social responsibility (CSR) to promote IT literacy in the students enrolled in the school.
The inauguration ceremony was held today with Mobilink Foundation’s Director Musammir Ali Syed in the chair. The ceremony was largely attended among others, by PEF Directors Nadeem Masood, Ayesha Nauman and Deputy Director Qasim Munir.
In his address, PEF Director Nadeem Masood said that Foundation Assisted School program is sponsoring free education of more than 1.3 million deserving students in Punjab through a network of 2313 partner private schools situated mostly in slums and remote areas. He said that PEF is also promoting IT education in its partner schools so that the students, mostly belonging to the impecunious strata, could learn about latest concepts.
PEF has also introduced students’ information system for electronically storing students’ data. He further said that FAS program is being extended in Punjab for arranging free educational facilities to more deserving children. For this purpose, FAS admission policy has been announced for accommodating dropouts and out of school children in PEF partner schools.
Mobilink Foundation’s Director Musammir Ali Syed lauded the good work of Punjab Education Foundation in education sector and assured their full support for the cause of education. Manager (CSR) Zuhaib Arshad and school principal shaheena jamal also spoke on the occasion. Different students presented tableaus and sung national songs.
Later, Musammir Ali Syed inaugurated the IT lab.
