Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that those playing with the honor of poor are not human beings but beasts. He said that police officers and officials helping the culprits deserve no leniency.
The Chief Minister ordered suspension of concerned DSP and SHOs of two police stations for not providing justice in the incident of molestation of an 11-year-old girl in Mauza Alamgir of Multan.
Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif visited the house of victim girl at Mauza Alamgir Multan today. He met the parents of the girl and expressing his shock over the incident assured provision of justice to the affected family. He also inquired details of the incident from the father of the girl Allah Bakhsh and mother Zareena.
The Chief Minister expressed deep shock and indignation over listening to the details of the incident. Talking to the parents of the victim girl, Shahbaz Sharif said that he has come here to provide justice to them. He assured that justice will be provided at every cost and the persons involved in this incident will not escape punishment.
He lamented that 11-year-old girl was molested but instead of providing justice police registered a case against her father and kept him in illegal custody. Strongly reprimanding police officials, Shahbaz Sharif said that this is criminal negligence. He lamented that you people are making excuse of flood for delay in provision of justice.
The Chief Minister asked whether justice had also sunk in flood. He said that if CPO is unaware of the incident then who will be aware of it. Shahbaz Sharif said what kind of this justice is that the order is given to register a case against the father of that girl who was molested. He called CPO Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry and inquired the reason of this negligence upon which he said that the accused were not arrested due to engagements in flood.
The Chief Minister reprimanding him said that do not make excuse of flood duty, have you also sunk justice in flood. Shahbaz Sharif said that when molestation had been proved in medical report, why so many days were wasted in registering the case. He said that such cases should be registered immediately. The Chief Minister said that the accused was arrested when he took notice of the incident which is highly lamentable.
What was police doing during this period, he questioned. He ordered that SHOs of police stations Muzaffarabad and Qutabpur and concerned DSP should immediately be suspended and strict disciplinary action should be taken against them. While constituting a 3-member committee comprising RPO Multan, Additional IG Investigation and DCO Multan, he said that this committee will conduct investigation and submit report.
He said that action will be taken as per law against those police officers and officials found negligent in the investigation report. Shahbaz Sharif directed DCO to arrange free education for victim girl in Multan Public School.
The Chief Minister became emotional on listening to the story of cruelty from the parents of the girl. When mother of the girl Zareena Bibi started weeping, Shahbaz Sharif consoled her in Saraiki language.
