Lahore: The process of provision of relief assistance by philanthropists and financial institutions to the flood affectees is continuing speedily and on behalf of Mobilink Company, five trucks of daily use items worth Rs. 35 lakh for 500 flood-hit families were handed over to PMDA. These relief items have been sent to the flood affectees of Jhang. Provincial Minister for Environment Shuja Khanzada, Chief Relief Commissioner Punjab Nadeem Ashraf and DG PDMA Dr. Ahmed Javed Qazi supervised the process of dispatch.
Chief Relief Commissioner while talking to media said that Punjab government effectively dealt with the flood situation and timely arranged evacuation of the marooned people and their cattle. He said that two lakh 30 thousand mineral water bottles, three lakh 84 thousand water purifying tablets, one lakh five hundred food hampers, 1200 flour bags and 9500 mosquito nets have been distributed so far among the flood-hit people. Moreover, on the demand of district administrations, 90600 tents, 77 large motorboats, 430 life jackets, 10 water filtration plants and 18 dewatering sets have also been supplied. He said that Punjab government will continue to make every effort for the relief and rehabilitation of the flood affected people.
