DG Sports Punjab Usman Anwar visits national kabaddi training camp at the Punjab Stadium

Lahore: Director General Sports Punjab Usman Anwar visited national kabaddi training camp at the Punjab Stadium here on Wednesday. He observed the entire proceeding keenly on the third day at the camp and expressed his satisfaction at the level of preparations being imparted to national kabaddi team.

Prior to the camp training, the DG SBP had a meeting with kabaddi probables and gave valuable tips to them. Head coach Ghulam Abbas Butt briefed the DG SBP about the performance of national Kabaddi team and the training strategies according to which the national Kabaddi team is being trained at the camp.  The participants of camp training also played practice matches before DG SBP to show their Kabaddi potential.

Talking to media, DG SBP Usman Anwar told that SBP’s Lahore Lions kabaddi team has shown reasonable performance in the ongoing World Kabaddi League (WKL) against all opponents. “Their second position among the best outfits of the world is definitely a big achievement and it must be acknowledged at all levels,” he added. He said that the recent upsurge in Pakistan Kabaddi reflected that the future of this game was quite bright in our country. “We have stars like Babar Gujjar, Shafiq Chishti and Akmal Shahzad Dogar who are no less than an asset for the country,” he added.

To a question, DG SBP expressed his hope that Pakistan Kabaddi team will offer excellent performances in the next round of World Kabaddi League and Kabaddi World Cup as well. “We will field best possible side in the Kabaddi World Cup to enhance our title winning prospects.
