Lahore: World class raider Shafiq Ahmed Chishti, Musharraf Javed Janjua and Irfan alias Mana, on Tuesday, have joined the kabaddi training camp that’s under way at the Punjab Stadium. The number of camp trainees has increased to 40 after the joining of ten more kabaddi players at the camp which is being organised for the preparation of Kabaddi World Cup and forthcoming vital encounters of World Kabaddi League (WKL).
Waqas Akbar, the Assistant Director SBP and manager of Lahore Lions told the media persons that the number of participants at training camp will be much more in the coming days. “We have plenty of young Kabaddi players who will be polished at the camp under the watchful eyes our world class coaches,” he informed.
Ghulam Abbas Butt, the head coach of Lahore Lion Kabaddi team, told that the passion of kabaddi has been growing with rapid speed among our young generation. “The way our kabaddi team is featuring in several world class matches in various parts of the world, our youngsters will get sufficient opportunities to show their potential,” he added. “The performance of all the players will be examined thoroughly before announcing the final playing eleven for the fifth round matches of WKL to be staged in Canada early next,” asserted.
