Lahore: The Ravian Forensic Society (RFS) Tuesday held the “Science Poster Exhibition” at the Government College University Lahore to highlight the quality research being carried out in the university in various fields of Chemistry, Physics, Botany, Microbiology and Forensics.
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Khaleeq-ur-Rahman opened the exhibition displaying more than 54 researches of international standards on various topics related to Fingerprinting, DNA Analysis, Drugs and Narcotics, Explosive Analysis, Pesticides, Nano-materials, Bioprocess, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Bio-diesel Production and Anti-microbial actives.
GCU Dean Faculty of Science Prof Dr Islam Ullah Khan, Chemistry Department Chairperson Prof Dr Adnan and Registrar Dr Akhyar Farrukh were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof Rahman said that such science exhibitions should be regularly held in all departments of the university as they doesn’t only provide students a platform to exhibit their research work but also help in improving their presentation skills and create a healthy environment of competition. He said that GCU students have great potential and they are doing quality research which is at par with international standards.
He laid a stress on mutual collaboration between the research and development organisations, departments and universities, saying that it was not possible for single department to have all the necessary equipment’s and research facilities.
Later, prizes, certificates and shields were given to the best three researchers; Sara Tahir, Muhammad Sajjad and Tayyaba Naseem.
