Lahore: On the instructions of Air Chief Marshal, Tahir Rafique Butt, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force 03 PAF MI-17 helicopters are undertaking rescue operations in the flood affected areas of Punjab. These helicopters have rescued hundreds of flood stricken people who were stranded in the low lying areas of Punjab.
PAF rescue squadrons are flying rescue missions in Jhang, Shorkot and Atthara Hazari areas to evacuate people from the flood hit locations. A Crisis Control Cell has been established at Air Headquarters Islamabad to centrally control the rescue activities.
