Lahore: General Council Meeting of Ski Federation of Pakistan (SFP) was held at Air Headquarters Islamabad. Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force who is also the Patron-in-Chief of Ski Federation of Pakistan, presided over the first session of the meeting. Primarily, the meeting was called to elect President of the Ski Federation of Pakistan.
In his address, Patron-in-Chief SFP highlighted the contributions of the office-bearers of SFP. He also assured that PAF would continue to extend full support to SFP for its ongoing and future endeavours. He also talked about the chairlift project at Naltar and the contributions made by PAF in this regard. The CAS talked about the efforts being made by PAF for the social uplift of Naltar and improvement of educational facilities for the children of the area. At the concluding note of his address, he appreciated the success of volunteer program for the education of youth specially the participation by 96 girls for education through this educational program.
During the Executive Committee meeting, Air Marshal Sohail Gul Khan, Vice Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force was unanimously elected as the new President Ski Federation of Pakistan. Representatives of all member Ski Associations i.e. PAF, Pak Army, GB Scouts, CAA and other affiliated member clubs participated the meeting.
During the meeting, Secretary General SFP, Air Commodore Mussarat Ali gave a detailed overview of skiing activities in 2013-14 besides the future projects to be taken up by the Federation. The house was briefed about the efforts being made by the Federation for inclusion of Ski Championship results for award of Quid-e-Azam trophy.
