Defective policies of the govt increases devastation of the floods :Ch Pervaiz Elahi

Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League (PML) senior central leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi has said that devastation caused by floods had increased due to defective policies of the govt which has not only failed but also been exposed.

Talking to media he said that friend of Nawaz Sharif,  Modi, should have at least informed him that they were releasing water whereas on the other hand Nawaz Sharif was sending him gift of Chaunsa mangoes, federal and Punjab Govts had not paid attention to repairs of protective embankments while during his tenure, every year survey was undertaken of these areas, funds were released for repairs of protective embankments, present govt had not released even a single rupee in 8 years in the head of repairs protective embankments, all the funds meant for this purpose were dumped in Jangla Bus and other flop projects because of which there were no medicines today in the hospitals.

Ch Parvez Elahi further said drama was being enacted by riding boats wearing long shoes, time for that had gone, people were fully informed minute to minute about developments and circumstances, their drama acting could no longer befool the people, devastation caused by flood was before everyone, if timely repairs had been undertaken then so much loss would not have been caused, they had done nothing, nobody was rescued because of which the army had to come, whatever works were to be done by them were now being done by the army.
