Zardari’s trustworthy officer Tahir Aalam Khan is appointed new IG Islamabad Police

Lahore: Federal Government has posted DIG Tahir Aalam Khan as a new IG of Islamabad. He has taken charge of his office and has spoken to the Islamabad police in the woe hours of Monday night. New IG Islamabad directed police not to use force against media even if they negatively report the events and the facts.

DIG Tahir Aalam Khan had served Islamabad as a SSP during PPP tenure and as the PML-N government was formed his services had been handed over to the Sindh government.

Although Tahir Aalam Khan had served for years in Lahore as DSP and SP police but he was never thought to be closed to the ruling party of the province, Punjab the PML-N. He remained in and out of field during CM Shahbaz Sharif era but as the PPP formed government in center, he was transferred to Islamabad and started serving as SSP Islamabad.

As a trustworthy officer of the former president Asif Ali Zardari, he was serving in Sindh police since the PPP formed government in the province Sindh. But suddenly on Monday night, IG Islamabad police charge was taken back from the DIG Khalid Khattak and Tahir Aalam Khan was appointed IG Islamabad by giving him shoulder promotion by the federal government.

Tahir Aalam Khan started his professional life as a journalist after completing his masters in Journalism from Punjab Police but very soon he joined Punjab Police as DSP traffic and later managed to change his cadre and joined Punjab police as operations DSP and served for around 2 decades in Punjab Police.He has very close and brotherly contacts with a media house owner too.He is known as a strict and law abiding officer,his posting shows that government would not be as lenient to the rioters as it was seen in few days back.
