Lahore: Upon the directions of Inspector General Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema, National Highways & Motorway Police, Central Zone conducted inter beat enforcement competition in the entire zone to create road safety awareness among masses at large said by DIG Bashir Ahmed Memon while supervising the contest on national highways. Sector Commanders Muhammad Inksar , Ghulam Jaffer and Abdul Khalil were also present on the occasion .
DIG Bashir Ahmed Memon said the competition focuses on efforts to enforce laws and to educate the public about safety helmet, fasten seat belt, lane violation, and usage of mobile phone while driving and speeding. It recognizes some of NH&MP best overall traffic safety programs to create road safety awareness among masses.
He said among 13 beats of this zone, Beat-18 Khanewal Sector-II, Multan, Beat-16 Chichawatni Sector-I, Okara and Beat-17 Kasowal Sector-II, Multan stood overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd, respectively. Three external umpires have been appointed in three separate vehicles and sectors to observed the status of enforcement and determine the transparent result in every beat, he added. The winner award ceremony will be held soon at zonal office, Lahore.
