Lahore: Lahore Lions kabaddi team will begin the second leg matches of World Kabaddi League on August 23 in India. The SBP outfit, which is in magnificent form, will depart for India Lahore Lions Media Manager Abdur Rauf Roofi told the media that Punjab Thunder will be the first opponents of Lahore Lions at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi on 23rd of this month.
Then the Lahore boys will lock horns with Indian film star Akshay Kumar’s Khalsa Warriors at the same venue “So far Lahore Lions appeared in two matches in World Kabaddi League and clinched both the encounters with clear margin.
After two big victories, they topped points table along with Khalsa Warriors with 4 points each,” he informed. Royal Kings USA, Punjab Thunder, United Singhs and Yo Yo Tigers have grabbed two points each while California Eagles and Vancouver Lions have yet to open their account in the points table, he told.
In their opening match, Lahore Lions thrashed Canada’s Vancouver Lions by 74-61 in London on August 10. Then on August 16, they outplayed Royal Kings USA by 62-50 convincingly at LG Arena Birmingham. Roofi further told that the entire team offered dazzling performances in England especially raider Shafiq Chishti was in astonishing form. “Chishti demonstrated impressive performance and was declared Player of the Match in both clashes,” he added.
