Protests have jammed the wheel of industry: Trader leaders

BannerLahore: All prominent traders’ organizations of the country have totally rejected the civil disobedience call given by PTI Chairman Imran Khan. Traders’ organizations of big cities of KPK, Lahore, Karachi, Quetta and other cities termed this civil disobedience as contrary to the country’s interest and announced to continue  pay taxes and bills for the development of the country.

Civil disobedience call of Imran Khan has also been rejected in KPK province and Minister for Local Government of KPK Anayat Ullah while rejecting the civil disobedience call said that it is highly harmful for country’s economy. He said that the announcement of civil disobedience call is not understandable. President Chamber of Commerce KPK also termed the announcement of civil disobedience call as wrong decision.

President ANP Peshawar Hussain Babak while rejecting the civil disobedience call said that Imran Khan should be sensible. Jamaat-e-Islami of KPK has also decided not to support the civil disobedience call of PTI as this call is not the decision of a provincial government rather it has been decided by a political party.

 Various traders’ organizations of Lahore while rejecting the civil disobedience call said that political instability is causing irreparable loss to the economy. Muhammad Ali Mian, Sheikh Asif, Anjam Mehmood Butt, Irfan Iqbal Sheikh, Nasir Saeed and Khawaja Aamir attended a press conference of office-bearers of various traders’ organizations at Press Club Lahore.

Traders’ leaders said that the announcement of civil disobedience by Imran Khan is not against the government but against the country. They said that how can those changing parties make new Pakistan. They said that they were shocked over the announcement of civil disobedience movement of Imran Khan. They said that Tehrik-e-Insaf has no practicable solution of country’s problems.

Traders’ leaders said that they pay tax to the country and not to the Prime Minister and they will continue to pay taxes and utility bills for national development. They further said that Imran Khan and Tahir ul Qadri are destroying the economy of the country.

Meanwhile, central traders’ organizations of Gujranwala, DI Khan, Vehari, Sheikhupura, Bahawalpur, Sahiwal, Multan, Faisalabad, Gujrat, Kasur, Khanewal, Muzaffargarh, Dera Ghazi Khan and Jaampur have also rejected the call for civil disobedience. Traders of Makhdoomabad took a rally in Multan against PTI.

The participants of the rally were of the viewed that civil disobedience is against constitution and democracy. President Anjuman-e-Tajran Quetta said that civil disobedience movement will not be allowed to succeed and the traders’ community will not become a part of it.
